Lough Gur Visitor Centre & Lakeshore Park

Overview

1h 30min
The lake of Lough Gur is Limerick’s only natural lake of significance situated between the dramatic rise of three hills in rural southeast Limerick, 21kms from Limerick City. When you visit with us you will enjoy your time ambling though Lough Gur Lakeshore Park and Visitor Centre. The community managed Visitor Centre interprets the internationally significant aspects of Lough Gur including its rich natural environment and abundance of impressive pre-historic archaeological monuments. We invite all people to visit with us and take the opportunity to connect with the people of Lough Gur through the mesmerising stories told by our local community guides. Recent projects include the addition of a Solstice Park Playground, Environmental Information Point Kiosk, and development of activities for all visitors.
