Island View Riding Stables

Grange

Overview

1h 30min
Island View Riding stables in Co. Sligo, between Benbulben mountain and the Atlantic Ocean. Get your ticket to a secret beach that is not accessible otherwise. The 1-hour ride is ideal for anybody, families, friends, and couples. Walk your horse along the seashore or splash through the waves. Choose the 1.5- or 2-hour version if you want to immerse yourself in nature for longer. You can enjoy the ride together even if you are different skill levels - the stables will send an extra guide so experienced riders can get a refreshing canter whilst beginners go at a more leisurely pace. Our signature experience for advanced equestrians is a ride to our private island with picnic. Tiny tots can enjoy a lead rein ride on a small pony. We also offer lessons for all levels of riders. For a bit of a getaway there is also the option of a short break with 2 nights in a 3-star hotel, dinner and 5 hours horse riding. Self-catering is available right beside the farm. Minimum age is 4, maximum weight is 16 stone or 100 kg. Book or enquire by phone 0719166156.

Most of the horses live outside all year and are well used to all kinds of weather. Generally, we go out in all weather. The weather can change quite quickly along the coast so often it’s just a case of waiting until a shower blows over or changing the route slightly.  It is only in exceptional circumstances that we cannot operate the rides. If we deem it unsafe to ride we will contact you and issue a refund.
