Dan O' Hara Homestead -Connemara Heritage & History Centre

Overview

1h
Explore Connemara's colourful past through our audio visual and history display. Stroll through the garden to the reconstructions of the crannóg, ringfort & clochaun. Step back in time when you enter the restored cottage of Dan O' Hara the broken hearted farmer who lived in the little cottage on the hill in the mid 19th Century. Sit beside the turf fire or look out the half door with it's wonderful views towards the Atlantic and imagine how broken-hearted he was to end up selling matches on the streets of New York far from his beloved Connemara. Shop for a souvenir in our craft shop and enjoy a cupán tae and some cáca milis. Gaeilge agus Fáilte.
