Ballykilcavan Farm and Brewery

Overview

1h
Ballykilcavan Brewery is set in a 240-year-old stone farmyard on the 1100-acre farm that has been owned by the Walsh family since 1639. David Walsh-Kemmis, brewery owner and 13th generation farmer, grows the brewing barley on the farm, while the spring water is drawn from a well in the farmyard. Visitors to Ballykilcavan now have the opportunity to join David on an engaging, fully-guided-farm and brewery tour that shares insights into his family’s 380-year-old farming history. In the brewery, experience the taste of the malts made from home-grown barley and the smell of the hops used to brew the beers. Following an insightful walk through the working brewery, end with a tasting of the finished product! Tours are available year-round but must be booked in advance. Public tours are listed at www.ballykilcavan.com/tours.html, and you can book a private tour by emailing David on david@ballykilcavan.com.
